Your Choices will Change the World
We have come to a time in history where digging for diamonds is an old tradition. We have evolved and we now know better. Would you purchase fur, ivory, or shark fins? The answer for most of us is no, because we know the pain and destruction it takes to bring these products to market.
Consumer demand drives the production of products, so we are the driving force to what is on the market, its price and supply chain.
Change will only come through action, motivated by the sincere understanding of the impact of our decisions. We encourage you to investigate for yourself and make an informed decision before you make your next diamond purchase.
Corporations with a philanthropy heart do exist and have the power to change the world BUT only if consumers choose the right corporations.
Let’s focus our attention on the many wonderful foundations and corporations that are already doing fantastic work in the world. It is so easy and inexpensive to provide food, shelter, medical care, and a loving family to thousands of children. Let’s be a part of the solution because your choices will change the world!
Here's How You Can Get Involved
Make Educated Purchases
We cannot stress enough how important this is. Every purchase you make supports something. You can either support a corporation that exploits people, animals, and the environment, or you can buy items from companies that help and invest in the world. It’s hard to change this all at once, especially if you’re used to shopping for bargains, but try changing just a few of your purchases to make them better reflect the things you value. At the moment more than 60 non-governmental organizations are campaigning for binding legislation what would require companies to investigate there supply chains and publicly report their findings. This would be a landmark opportunity to help put things right. Until then, it is our job as consumers to do the investigating. Know what you are buying and where it comes from—insist on verification and/or third party references. Look for conflict free alternatives and support companies that give back to a cause you believe in.
Sponsor a Child
Quite possibly the easiest and quickest, yet most impactful thing you can do. Imaging the world if everyone that has ever purchased a diamond sponsored one child! The USA accounts for 50% of global diamond jewelry sales. Approximately 70% of women in the USA own an earth-mined diamond. That’s approximately 1,500,000 people just in the USA.Learn More
Remember to pass it on. Tell other people what you have learned and refer companies you believe in.
Research clearly demonstrates that word of mouth—product or service recommendations made by friends, co-workers, or neighbors you know and trust—is still the most effective way to be an advocate for a company you believe in.
Share Your Wedding With
a Worthy Cause
With a charity registry, couples can receive donations to a charity in place of tangible gifts. Some couples choose to have a charity registry in addition to their retailer registry, for guests who prefer to give a more traditional gift. Be sure to let your guests know your gift preferences through your wedding website, or have bridesmaids spread the word.Heartful.ly Amazon
